The Office of Residential Life is committed to fostering a student residential experience that provides students with opportunities to connect, builds and strengthens community, and enhances students’ overall educational experiences. In our work, we strive to ensure
opportunities for students to engage and build alliances across differences and learn from each other. Ultimately, our goal is to facilitate a vibrant residential community of learners, leaders, and global citizens. The Residential Life Office builds community through its Student Residential Coordinators (RC’s). RC’s aim to develop personal connections with their residents and CC’s are charged with programmatic efforts across the campus community.
As a residential college, Scripps carefully organizes, maintains, and supervises residence hall life to ensure that students and the wider College community enjoy a safe and fulfilling experience. The residential life team includes a director of campus life, an assistant director of residential life, an assistant director of student engagement, area coordinators, resident coordinators, and community coordinators. All area coordinators, resident coordinators, and community coordinators reside on campus.
Resident Coordinators (RCs) foster community on campus by building relationships with students, encouraging critical thinking, and helping students learn more about themselves. RCs strive to form personal connections with their residents and the broader campus community. These student leaders work closely with Community Coordinators (CCs) to promote a sense of belonging and connectedness at Scripps through various programs in their Residential Halls.
