Description: Monsour is a team of well-trained psychologists, psychiatrists and post-doctor and intern therapists offering support for a range of psychological issues in a confidential and safe environment. MCAPS provides brief individual counseling and is not a long-term therapy option.
Services
Drop-in Hours:
- The services we provide include, brief individual and couples therapy, group psychotherapy, crisis/on-call services, psychiatry, outreach programming and workshops, and consultations. Therapy services are provided in a confidential environment
- MCAPS will now be offering counseling, assessment, and crisis services via teletherapy or telephone for students living in California (this is due to state laws).
- For non-California residents, MCAPS can help to locate local resources and referral options. Schedule a brief assessment, contact your previous MCAPS therapist, or complete a referral form for out of state referral options.
- Out of state students can still access workshops (both on-going and one-time), brief assessments, drop-in hours, crisis and consultation services, and referral appointments. Psychiatry appointments are also available on a case-by-case basis depending on your state’s laws and other circumstances.
- MCAPS services are free. Off-campus referral services have an associated cost. Any currently enrolled and matriculating Scripps student may seek an off campus referral for any reason. However, the College hopes to limit financial assistance to those students who have a demonstrated financial need. Students who do not have demonstrated financial need, but present other compelling reasons (such as privacy concerns) may also request financial assistance. The College will cover co-pays of up to $75 per session for 8 sessions in total. Requests for additional sessions must be made in writing to Dean Hicks and will be considered on a case by case basis.
