CASE MANAGEMENT

Location: Dean of Students Office
Contacts: Jamila Zuwayed ([email protected]) - Assistant Dean and Director of Case Management

Case Management assists students who are dealing with areas related to mental health, emotional well-being, and safety by providing outreach, resources, referrals, advocacy, and follow-up services. Case Management offers a wide array of services to address and support the diverse needs of each student, including:
  • Intervention: Immediate support for students facing urgent issues.
  • Advocacy: Acting as advocates for students in navigating institutional processes or
    securing needed accommodations.
  • Resources: Connecting students with relevant on-campus and off-campus resources.
  • Referrals: Directing students to appropriate services across the Scripps community, Claremont University Consortium, or in the local area.

Follow-Up Services: Providing continued support to ensure students are effectively connected to resources and progressing in their personal and academic goals. If concerned for a Scripps student’s well-being (physical, emotional, or psychological) it is encouraged to use the Student Support Referral Form to notify the Case Management team. This form facilitates a timely response to help address any potential issues impacting the student's success and safety.

The Case manager collaborates and consults with students, parents, faculty, staff, and other campus resources to best address the diverse needs of each student. We also provide information that may help in recognizing and responding to individuals in distress and making appropriate referrals. Case managers support students who are:
  • Struggling to navigate the college system
  • Have current or emerging mental or physical health issues
  • Experiencing issues adjusting to academic and social life.
